Nail Polish Review!

Happy Monday!  I have a new polish review for you!

This color actually changes color in different light, but for the most part its a vibrant, beautiful purple.

I used NYC In a NYC Minute, Quick Dry in "Prince Street"

I love the smoothness of this polish on my nails.  The color is beautiful and went on very well.

I would give it between 1-10......a seven.  I love it, but there are more that I like better.  But for the $1.67 price, you can't beat that!

Take care :)

Thrift Store Finds

I dropped by the Family Thrift Center in my city and this is what I got!  First of all I forgot to take a separate pic of the shirt, but it is a Calvin Klein, Burgundy L/S top with black embellishments.  It was the most expensive of everything at $7.99.

I got this 3 disk gold (not real gold) necklace for $3.00, it was half off.

Next I got this beautiful necklace for $2.50 and it was half off too!  It's also excellent quality!

Last, but not least, my favorite item I found were these black & gold earrings for $5.99!  Also of excellent quality!

All together the total came to just under $20.00 including tax!  Not bad huh?  That is why I LOVE thrifting, because you never know what you are going to find and at what price!

Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here...Whoop whoop!

Nail Review: Aubergine

I thought I would start the Fall season with a deep color.  This is Sinful Colors in Aubergine, which is one of the big colors for fall!

I love Sinful colors nail polish.  It goes on smooth, dries smooth and lasts for days before chipping.  Plus, you can't beat the $1.99 price tag!

Have a great Monday!

New Makeup

So I was at Walmart the other day and picked up a ton of Fall nail polishes, as you can see in my Fall Nail Polish Review post a few days ago.  But I also bought a few other makeup products while I was there:

This is a very, very old product that first came out in 1935!  I used this Loose Face Powder a long, long time ago, but never replaced it until now.  Some people might say this is an "older ladies product", but for something to be around for that long, they must be doing something right!  Its called Airspun Loose Face Powder by Coty.  It is a 3" wide jar with an old fashioned white powder puff inside, but I prefer to use a big fluffy brush.  You are either going to love the smell or hate it, there's no in between and to me it smells like a strong powder.

I got the Translucent Extra Coverage so I wouldn't have to deal with matching the color of my face.  I wanted it because I have combination skin and tend to get shiny in my T-zone.  It's silky soft fine powder and it makes your face feel silky also.  So I think I'll keep using it until something better, but not expensive comes along.

With the Fall season coming up, gone are the days of the dewy, glowy face.  Matte is back for Fall ladies!  I have hit pan on my translucent pressed powder, so I decided to try Rimmel's Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder.  Again I got the color Transparent or #001.  It doesn't come with a powder puff like most of my pressed powders do, so because I keep it in my purse, I'm going to try one of my smaller sized fluffy brushes by Mirra for on the go touch ups.  It smells very clean and powdery, which I like, but I'm finding unlike the Airspun Powder, the translucent color makes my face a little more whiter than I care for and it also looks like its just sitting right on top of my face.  I'll try it again in a few days, maybe it was just a fluke that day with my skin's texture at the time.

Since the color Berry is the new lip color for the Fall, I thought I would try this one by NYC.  It's called Liquid Lipshine in Midtown Mulberry or #581.  I love the color, but the brush is the longest sponge applicator I've ever seen, so it has a lot of flexibility to it when you apply it.  I still like it, just never seen a long sponge like that one before!

The next product I bought is a single eyeshadow by Hard Candy in Solo or #519.  It is a light bronzy brown and is the softest shadow I have ever used.  Hard Candy is one of my faves for drugstore products.  I have some swatches of all three of these in the next picture.

The last thing I purchased is Rimmel's Scandal Eyes Eyeshadow Stick/Crayon in "Bad Girl Bronze" or #003.  It is a 24 hour wear and is also waterproof!  I'm not using it as an eyeshadow though, I'm using it as an eyeliner.  I draw a thick line at the base of my lids and carry it out a little further for a winged look.  It's blendable, soft and it really does last a long time.  Of course I didn't put it to the 24 hour test because I can't bring myself to sleep in makeup!  Here is a swatch of the 3 products above.

The one on top is the eyeliner crayon, then the lip color and then the eyeshadow.  They actually all go great together!

Well, that's it for now, hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'm still working on my Fall Trends post with pictures, so it should be done soon.  Take care!

September Ipsy Bag

I recently switched from Birchbox back to Ipsy and here is what I got:

Of all the colors in the rainbow, I got white!  I got a NYX eyeshadow in Sparkle White.  I know, I know I can use it in a lot of ways, but I just love color!

I got a John Frieda Full Repair Shampoo & Conditioner.  Descent size and I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I would rather have received a makeup product than a hair product.  Guess I need to change my Ipsy profile :)

Next, It's so Big mascara by Elizabeth Mott.  I'll let you know how I like it.

Starlooks pencil eyeliner in Obsidian.  Don't really like pencils as much as gel liners, but will give it a try.

I do love the bag, it matches my Cobalt Blue handbag I'm carrying right now.  I forgot to take a picture of one more thing.  I received a tri-fold card for Michelle Phan's new makeup line called "em cosmetics".  It was the Life Palette that showed all the colors, plus a little sample on the card.  In case you don't know her, Michelle Phan is a YouTube Beauty Guru and I guess this is her new makeup line.  Way to go Michelle!

The weekend is almost here....Yessss!!!!!!  Have a great Thursday everyone!

Fall Nail Polish Review

The fall season is just around the corner and that means new nail polish colors!  I stocked up on a few (okay, way too many) in the last few weeks and will do a new polish review once, maybe twice a week.  I will give it a score between 1 and 10 based on ease of application, color payoff, price, how well it dries and how long it lasts before it starts chipping.  Here is the first one to start off the new fall season:

First of all, Cobalt Blue is one of the trendiest colors for the fall season.  I just happened to find a beautiful one right away!

The polish is Sinful Colors Professional and the color is "Endless Blue" or #1052.  I have always loved Sinful Colors nail polish and for the $1.99 price tag, you just can't beat it!  You can't....you can try, but you can't :)  I bought this at Target, but you can get it at Walmart and other drugstores near you.

It goes on smoothly and dries beautifully, and you get a lot of polish in that bottle!  This is two coats with a top coat, and this picture was taken 3 days after application and hasn't chipped yet.

This color just pops!!  Plus, they have a very wide variety of colors to choose from.  I would give this polish a 10!  It meets all the criteria above for my rating system.  You could buy four of these polishes for the cost of one Essie polish.  Don't get me wrong, I still love my Essie so I'm just saying.  I'm going to try to do one polish review per week on Mondays.

Have a great Tuesday!

New Fall Boots!

Yeahhhh!  Fall is almost here, I can feel it in the air.  Even though it is still in the 80's and 90's here in the desert land.  Never the less, I am a boot hoarder!  I bought 3 pairs in the past few months.  Here is what I got:

I just love these!  I bought these at Marshall's, my home away from home!  They are by Kathy Van Zeeleand and they have a soft velvet feel to them.

I just drool when I see these in my closet!  Also bought at Marshall's, these are by White Mountain and are so comfortable.  They are a beautiful Cognac colored riding boot and these are my faves from all 3 pairs I bought.

I really never shop at K-mart......okay I rarely shop there, but the K-mart by us was going out of business so I thought I would take a look.  I found these boots that were normally $39.99 and I got these for $10.00!  Suede and camel colored with a 2 inch heel.  They are by Attention, which is like K-mart's high end brand (don't judge).

That's it for the boot purchase so far...... :)

Coming up next.....Fall Trends!

Ulta Haul

I did a little online shopping at Ulta the other night and here is what I got:

First, I am probably the only girl on Earth that has not tried Urban Decay's Primer Potion, but I purchased the new one with Anti-Aging in it to protect your delicate eyelids from getting wrinkled.  So far I love it.  My eyeshadow lasts all day without fading or creasing.

I also replaced my fave face primer, Too Faced Primed & Poreless...Love this stuff!

I also got yet another lip plumper (I never give up!).  I got NYX Pump it Up in Angelina, a very natural color, but no plump...Wa wa waaaaa!

I've never tried Benefit's They're Real Mascara, so thought I would give it a try.  I really do love this one!  Not only does it make your lashes long, but it has a little spiked brush on the end to vertically apply to those little lashes at the base that a normal brush would miss.  Love this!

I bought this Smashbox Bestsellers Kit for $19.00.

Smashbox Photo Finish Eye Primer

Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in Onyx

It is a smooth gel liner

I haven't been able to try this yet, but I will let you know.

Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume, a very natural gloss for those days when you just feel like lip balm, but with a little shimmer.

Last in the Smashbox Kit is the well known face primer Photo Finish, which is actually the very first face primer I have ever used...a long, long time ago.  It makes your skin feel like silk and preps it for foundation.  I will always love this!

This next set of pictures is a free gift I got with purchase, all Stila products.

Stila Lip Glaze in Vanilla

Smudge Crayon in Bronze

Smudge Crayon in Smoke

Smudge Crayon in Black

I love all of these especially the smudge crayons, but I made a big mistake and didn't check to see if it was a pencil or a twist up liner and I sharpened it!  Eeek!  Unfortunately, I ruined my fave...the bronze one.

That is it for my Ulta Haul, hope you have a great Wednesday!

Coming up next.....New Fall Boots!
