Memorial Day Manicure

Happy Memorial Day!

Here are 3 shades of pink I thought I would try out today:

The first one is Wet N' Wild's fastdry nail color called "How I Met Your Magenta".

The shade is kind of a neon pink, which is pretty.  The polish itself goes on good but does not cover very well, in fact you can see my nail right through 2 coats of polish!

I do like the long handle on the brush though because it makes it easier to apply.

The next one is NYC's In A New York Color Minute quick dry.  That's not even the name of the color of the polish!  The color is called "Prospect Park Pink".

This is a real pretty coral/pink.  It goes on smooth and drys quick.  I really like this one!

The last one is my fave of all three.

It's Essie's "Fun in the Gondola".  It's a beautiful light mauve.  I went to walk the dog just now and it looks even more beautiful outside!

It goes on smooth and dries to a beautiful satin finish.

Hope you enjoyed my Pink Polish Review and if you want me to review any nail polishes for you, just let me know!

Manicure Monday: Coral

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm reviewing another nail polish today by Sally Hansen.  It's from the complete salon manicure line and the color is "Frutti Petutie" number 540.

Please excuse my messy desk background :)  I've tried the complete salon manicure line before and I love it.  It goes on very smooth with a flat brush (my fave).  No complaints about this polish.  However.....

......this color is awful!  It looks pretty on camera, but in person...Yuck!  The bottle looks like a Coral/Pink, very pretty, but when it goes on it's like a blinding pink/orange!  I guess if your on a tropical vacation it would look good, but just not for me...the polish not the vacation.  Anyway, I bought some new colors recently and I'm going to review them next Monday...so tune in :)  Take care :)

Target's Next Collaboration

Happy Thursday everyone!!  Today Target announced it's next designer collaboration.....and the next designer is...drum roll please...3.1 Phillip Lim!  Here is a little preview from the She Finds website, my go to for fashion news and information:

I love Target collabs!  Especially since where I live, I can pretty much have my first pick, since there are no lines here and no crowds.  I've even waited long enough for it to go on clearance, such as Jason Wu!

Click on the She Finds website above and find out more about what this Limited Edition Collection will have.  Make it a wonderful day :)

Manicure Monday: Wild Orchid

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a good weekend.  It was so much cooler here, which I love because it has been in the upper 80's for the past month.  The year before last it was like this in May, very hot and then it snowed and the next day it was back to the 80's!!

So the nail polish review of the week is Rimmel's "Wild Orchid".  It is a beautiful shade of lavender, but a little deeper in color.

I absolutely love Rimmel's nail polishes!  They have the flat brush that I like, plus they go on like a dream.

I put two coats of polish on and I didn't even need a shine top coat, but I may put one on later.  This polish was just under $4.00, I can't remember exactly, but for that price I actually...dare I say it?....like it better than Essie!  There.  I said it.  Just my opinion though.  Have a great day :)

Stuck in a Rut...

When I first started this blog, my main reason was to "find my style"or get some style :)  I was looking at a post I did a few days ago, a collective haul and realized that the majority of the clothes I buy or have in my closet are black or white, or black and white.

I have always been into fashion, thrifting, shopping and beauty products.  So now, I need to start adding color to my wardrobe.  Plus, I'm thinking of cutting my hair short.....Eeek!  Right now, it's about to my waist and so thick it gives me headaches to wear it up, but it's too heavy to wear it down.  So those are my two goals for this year, cut my hair and start changing my wardrobe by adding more color.

Here are a few hairstyles I've picked out that I would like to try:

Or I could stay with my longer hair, but of course get the dry ends cut off.  Plus get some of my layers back and maybe add bangs, so maybe something like this:

I don't have any recent pictures of me, but here's the hairstyle I've basically worn for the last 10 years, both shoulder length and to the middle of my back.  I believe this picture below was taken in 2005:

This picture below was taken in 2009, when I just let my hair go due to an illness:

And this was the last picture taken of me in 2011:

This is what it basically looks like now, but a little longer, way longer layers and not quite as healthy.

Any ideas?

I used to have a heart shaped face, but due to recent weight gain my face is now more round.  I would love any feedback to help me make my decision :)

Essie 2013 Summer Collection

I was at Target the other day and I had a $2.00 coupon for an Essie polish.  There are so many pretty colors right now, it was a hard decision.  Then I found this color, the only one I might add, sitting behind another polish.  Now I bought this on 4/29/13 and I was going to wait until Monday to do a review, but I just found out this color is from the 2013 Summer Collection and is due for release on 5/1/13!  Someone at Target messed up and put one of them out a few days too early!  I found out some bloggers go this collection in their PR kit, but were not allowed to put it online until 5/1/13.

Anyway....I just thought I would share that with you :)  The color is called Naughty Nautical and I love the richness of it. It's more green than blue, so I would call it a shimmery blue/green color.  The collection has 6 colors and 5 out of 6 have shimmer.  They are beautiful from what I've seen online.

With the coupon, I only paid $5.59 and that's not bad for a brand new collection since they are normally $10.59.  Sorry for the quick polish application, after I did the pictures my camera picked up some mistakes, but I just wanted to get it on and show you fast!  Happy Wednesday!!
