New Handbag & Wallet!

Yes, I am still spending my Birthday money from September!  I told you I was frugal :)

I saw this Merona Handbag at Target at the end of the Summer and fell in love with it.  But $39.99?  Umm.....No.  So I got on Target's website and I added it to my cart because, they are not like some websites where they remove your item after 24 hours, but now if it's still in the basket and someone buys the last one, you will lose it, which is totally fair.  So I leave some items I like in the cart and keep checking back weekly when Target does their weekly discount markdowns all the way up to 90% sometimes!  Well it finally went down and I got it for $12.00!  Yeah baby 70% off!

What I loved about this purse is that is has a middle compartment for your main things such as your wallet etc. and then it has 2 thinner zippered openings on each side, maybe for your makeup bag, important papers you may need with and such.  I can't stand some of these beautiful bags, and then you look inside and it's one huge compartment.  How in the heck can I find anything in there?  Anyway I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new bag.  That's not all.....

I went to Payless while I was running errands just to see what they had.  Of course everything was on sale...."maybe I should leave" I told myself.  But I didn't and of course I found this Christian Siriano for Payless wallet that just sang to me LA LA LA!! It felt like real leather but of course it is faux and it was $14.99 which is still pushing it for me. But then I noticed it was on sale for $9.99, plus Payless gives you a AAA discount if you are a member, so I think I paid about $8.49 for it!  CHA CHING!!

This is what the inside looks like.  I like that it doesn't have a million different fold outs and pockets, it's got room for your bank or credits cards and there's one on the other side too, you can't see it in the picture.  It has a place for money at the very top and a zippered change purse in the middle.  I don't carry checks anymore which is why I like something slim like this.  Did you notice?  It matches my new handbag too :)

I still have $15.00 left of my birthday money....Shopping shopping shopping!

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Mascara Review

I needed a new mascara desperately, so I looked at some reviews on You Tube and chose 2 that I thought were the most liked and 1 more that I have always had good luck with, but it's an updated version.  I tried to take pictures of the mascara on my eyes, but I have not mastered that one yet, sorry :)

The first one is one that I have liked ever since they started with L'oreal Voluminous Lashes is L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess....whew that was a mouth full!!  I do like this one, but it's not my favorite out of the 3.  It is good maybe if you want a light touch of mascara, because that is what one coat gives you, very light, but clump free.  I added a second coat and it was a lot better, but don't wait to long to put the 2nd coat on because it dries fast and you could get clumps.  What I do like about this is the way it makes your lashes feel light as a feather, with it's brush having both long and short bristles for good separation.  The packaging is beautiful in red and gold metallic and the smell of it was like a sweet perfume.  It was $7.99 at Target and I would recommend it to someone just starting out applying makeup.

The 2nd one is L'oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza, which is fairly new.  This one got a lot of good reviews on You Tube.  This brush intimidated me, seriously I was afraid to use it, quit laughing :)  It was not like any other brush I had ever seen, but it's called a double wing shape.  You are supposed to use one wing side to apply the first coat root to tip, then you flip it over and do the same and it is supposed to fan out your lashes.  This is just with one coat.  The wings in the brush are like little combs to separate each lash.  My opinion, I love this little scary, intimidating brush because of what it does to your lashes.  I highly recommend it!  It gave me a fanned out look like it said it would.  I personally like it better with 2 coats for a more dramatic look. The packaging is red and silver metallic and it smells just like the one above, like a sweet perfume.  It was also $7.99 at Target.

The 3rd and last mascara I bought is Covergirl Bombshell Volume by Lashblast.  This is the fattest mascara I've ever seen in my life!  It has 2 sides to it with a big #1 and #2 on each side.  This one has 2 steps to it, hence the numbers, so if you can't count, your too young to be reading this post ;)   First, you load on side #1 for unbelievably big volume, their words not mine ;) Then you use side #2 to seal in with one coat for an intense, dark, all day finish.  I put on the first coat, side #1 and I thought "I don't like this, it barely got any mascara on my lashes".  Then I used side #2 and this is what makes them thicker and actually darker!  I love this one too!  This mascara was $8.99 at Target, but luckily I had a $2.50 off coupon.

OK, my favorite out of the three?  (Drumroll please.....drum drum drum drum drum)  The winner is L'oreal Voluminous Butterfly Intenza with Covergirl Bombshell being a very close 2nd :)

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Bummed out!

I am so bummed out because I had so many plans for continuing my blog, like OOTD, thrift finds, DIY etc., and I have either been dealing with my pain or putting items on Ebay.  I still have so many women's and some men's clothes to list, they are slowly shoving me out of my office!  I have about 30 pairs of jeans to sell such as Gap, Levi's, Abercrombie and more.  Plus tops, sweaters, coats, blazers, Winter items and shoes (all sizes of clothes) but the majority are small (I wish I still was ;)  There are lots of unique books too, plus some collector items.  Anyway, that is what I have been so busy with, trying to list before Christmas, oh I also have ornaments too!  So for now I think I need to concentrate on Ebay first and then my blog.

BTW, if you'd like to check out what I already have on there just go to Ebay and my member name is dbalori or just click on the link dbalori that is highlighted and it takes you straight there. I only have about 21 things on there right now because I've sold a lot in the past month, but I'm getting everything ready to put on this week and next.

I really can't wait to start doing my blog full time because I have SO many ideas!!  So come to Ebay and visit me, with more to come in the next few weeks!  Plus, starting January hopefully I'll be ready to do the blog full time.

Have a great Sunday everyone :)

Thrift Store Finds!

So if you follow me on Instagram, you would know I received a $100 Savers gift card for my Birthday.  I went in looking for jeans and long sleeve light button up blouses for Fall.  Which surprisingly is what I came out with.....Shocker!

It was members only sale day, 30% off all clothing, so here is what I got:

Animal Print Blouse by Love Potion $9.99

NYDJ Skinny Jeans $7.99

SK & Company Blouse $4.99

Gap 1969 Long & Lean Jeans $14.99

Jag High Waisted Jeans $14.99

NY City Design Animal Print Silk Blouse $9.99

Total before discount: $62.94

After member's discount:  $44.06

I think I did pretty good considering 3 quality pairs of jeans for about $26.00, which is more than you would pay for just one pair alone!  Savers is a little more expensive than some other thrift stores I'm starting to find out, but they are so organized and have a huge inventory.

I still have about $50.00 left to spend, but I have it in cash so I can go to a thrift store that is a little less expensive like Goodwill.

I have never tried on the NYDJ or the Jag jeans before and the fit is amazing!  So thrifting is a good way to discover new brands at a much lower price.

Hope your having a beautiful Saturday!

I'm back again!

Hello!  I had to take a break for health reasons and the weird thing is I decided I would start posting again today and I looked at the date, and it's been exactly one year to the date that I last posted!  Weird!

I am really going to try to put more OOTD posts on here from now on, maybe not every day, but more than I did before.  I am hoping I can do more thrifting posts too, since that is a big part of my life.

I've been putting a lot of clothing on Ebay because my office is filled with clothing that I've either been given by people to sell or clothes I just have to get rid of for lack of wearing or fitting anymore.  I'm really thinking about putting some of my clothes on Poshmark, have you heard of it?  It's basically a virtual closet of clothing that people are selling from their own closets and I really like the prices!  If I do I will link my closet to this blog if anyone is interested.

I haven't had my hair cut in about a year and a half, because it's so hard to make an appointment with someone and have to cancel because I'm too sick to drive.  So I've been having my boyfriend cut the length off a little at a time and then I clip my bangs.  Needless to say, the last time I posted on my blog my hair was to my waist, with long layers.  Since then I've had Chris cut off about 15 inches total!  So my layers are now gone and my hair is past my shoulders to about the middle of my back!  It's very thick and grows really fast and no I'm not bragging, trust me, it's a pain!!  Now I just need to find someone I can trust to put some layers back in my hair.  Then I'm going to deepen the color just a little.....maybe :)  I really really want to change my style, but I can't decide.  Here are a few pictures I've collected that I would like to try:

This is how I usually have my layers, but I've never had side swept bangs

I love her bangs and this is how I've always worn my bangs, but not as thick, more like fringe

This is another picture with side swept bangs that I would like to try

I've had my hair like this before but my bangs came straight across my forehead

This haircut is if I'm feeling very brave, because it is above the shoulders and I don't know if my face shape can carry it off like hers can

This picture does her haircut no justice, but I love all the layers

Again I have to be feeling very brave at the time, but it's SOOO cute!

Last but not least, I like the layers in her hair and I've had mine like this before

I have no idea how I am going to get it done until I get the advice of the stylist I choose.  I do know that I need to do this VERY soon, because my driver's license expires October 14th!!  So I have maybe a week.....Eeeek!!

Any opinions?  Anyone?  I surely would appreciate it!

Nail Polish Review!

Happy Monday!  I have a new polish review for you!

This color actually changes color in different light, but for the most part its a vibrant, beautiful purple.

I used NYC In a NYC Minute, Quick Dry in "Prince Street"

I love the smoothness of this polish on my nails.  The color is beautiful and went on very well.

I would give it between 1-10......a seven.  I love it, but there are more that I like better.  But for the $1.67 price, you can't beat that!

Take care :)

Thrift Store Finds

I dropped by the Family Thrift Center in my city and this is what I got!  First of all I forgot to take a separate pic of the shirt, but it is a Calvin Klein, Burgundy L/S top with black embellishments.  It was the most expensive of everything at $7.99.

I got this 3 disk gold (not real gold) necklace for $3.00, it was half off.

Next I got this beautiful necklace for $2.50 and it was half off too!  It's also excellent quality!

Last, but not least, my favorite item I found were these black & gold earrings for $5.99!  Also of excellent quality!

All together the total came to just under $20.00 including tax!  Not bad huh?  That is why I LOVE thrifting, because you never know what you are going to find and at what price!

Happy Thursday!  The weekend is almost here...Whoop whoop!

Nail Review: Aubergine

I thought I would start the Fall season with a deep color.  This is Sinful Colors in Aubergine, which is one of the big colors for fall!

I love Sinful colors nail polish.  It goes on smooth, dries smooth and lasts for days before chipping.  Plus, you can't beat the $1.99 price tag!

Have a great Monday!
