DIY Jewelry Holder Instructions
- Round Wooden dowel from any craft store like Hobby
Lobby, Michaels (Mine is 1" thickness & 24" long, but you can get
whatever size you want, they have all lengths and thickness)
- Small Screw in hooks (In any craft store, just ask)
- 2 Sawtooth Picture hangers 1 1/2" wide or Small (In
any craft store in the framing department)
You will have to determine how long you want it to be and how
many necklaces you want to hang, and that will give you the amount of screw in
hooks you need (I used 23 hooks)
It's very easy! Take the wooden dowel and measure across
how many inches you want each screw or how close you want each necklace to be
next to each other. Mine is 1" in between each necklace. Take
a pencil and make a dot at every inch so you know where to put each screw in
hook. Screw the hooks in at each pencil mark. Then just determine
where you want the picture hangers to go on the back of the dowel. Mine
are on each end of the dowel. This is where you are going to hang the
necklace holder with nails on your wall, one nail per sawtooth hanger.
Then for my earrings, bracelets and rings, I used this Gift Wrap Organizer from Avon below. It hangs on the back of my closet door.
I recently found a complete jewelry organizer for under $75.00, it fits everything! I asked for it for my Birthday, so we'll see!
Then for my Belts I used a simple metal belt hanger or tie hanger from Target. Sorry the picture downloaded on it's side, but I fixed it.
Now this is my closet, organized by category (tees, tanks, long sleeve shirts, dresses etc.) and each category is done by color:
I'm trying to figure out a new way to do my shoes right now, so I'll post pictures when I'm done :) Have a wonderful evening!
